The Importance of Sharing
From my placement experience I have found out how
important it is to share student work for both the students and teacher. I came to this realisation through discussion and comments from my mentor teacher, and also from the students' willingness to share their work. I
define ‘sharing’ as the action of students or teacher displaying and
talking about a piece of work. Below I will be discussing why I believe sharing
is significant for the students and how it can be beneficial for a teacher's pedagogy.
National Professional Standards for Teachers:
The concept of sharing connects to the 5th National Standard which states; 'Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning.' It more specifically relates to 5.2 as sharing students work can 'provide feedback to students on their learning.'
